Meet the Owner

Ariel "Golden Hulk" Perez is a professional light heavyweight boxer ranked #16 in the country with an undefeated record of 8-0 (4 KOs). 

Golden Hulk excelled as a football player when he was a teen, a star running back on his way to the NFL. As a result of choices that took him down the wrong path, he was expelled from school, ending his NFL dreams. 

At 29, he knew something was missing. He was overweight, working construction, and hustling to make ends meet. That's when he found boxing, and he knew he found his calling! This sport didn't just get him back in shape; it gave him purpose and lit a fire inside him. This was the second chance he didn't know he needed. 

Today, he's chasing greatness inside the ring while also giving back to his community. Alongside his childhood friend, former NFL player James Wilder Jr., they opened Tampa Bay Hulk Camp x Wilder Sports Academy. 

At their gym, they offer boxing training, fitness programs, competitive boxing coaching, weightlifting, speed & agility training, and professional-level coaching that builds champions. 

Golden Hulk's journey has been far from easy, but every setback built the fighter he is today. He's not just fighting for himself -- he's fighting for everyone who has ever been knocked down and needed a way to rise back up. 

The Golden Hulk has arrived, and this is just the beginning!

Fun Fact: James and Golden Hulk go way back! They were Northside Dolphins little league teammates right here in Tampa.

Can I check out the gym before committing to a membership?

Yes, absolutely! Complete the Contact Form and we’ll work with you on the best time to see the gym and workout with one of the coaches. You won’t regret it!

What gear or equipment do I need for a boxing workout?

Whether you workout on your own, in a class, or with a coach, you will want to have hand wraps, boxing gloves (16 oz gloves for sparring), boxing shoes, a towel, and lots of water. The gym has jump ropes, although many members bring their own. 

Does the gym provide any equipment?

We have a weight room with a variety of equipment. We also have a sauna, heavy bags, a full size ring, large open space inside and outside, and a cold plunge tub.

Is there parking by the gym?

We are located on a corner lot away from main roads with plenty of street parking available. 

What are the gym hours?

We provide access to the gym from 8:30am-8:30pm Mon-Fri and 9:00am-1:00pm on Sat. Classes and training are held Mon-Fri from 10a-12:30p and 6p-8:30p.
